THE STORY SO FAR
One profession.
More than one path.
I trained at the International Medical University and the University of Warwick, graduating with an MB ChB in 2014. After working in the UK, I returned to Malaysia in 2016.
My clinical experience led me to explore the possibilities around medicine—not only how we care for patients, but how doctors learn, work and build careers.
In 2020, I joined forces with Dr Selina Chew to co-found Medic Footprints Malaysia. The platform evolved into Disruptive Doctors in 2023, bringing together career discovery, learning, community and healthcare innovation.
Today, that work includes connecting people across the healthcare ecosystem and creating spaces, including DDCon, where those conversations can happen in person.

A short introduction.
Dr Vivek Subramaniam is a Malaysian medical practitioner and co-founder of Disruptive Doctors. A graduate of the University of Warwick and International Medical University, he works at the intersection of medical careers, professional communities and healthcare entrepreneurship. His public speaking includes TEDxIMU 2025, where he explored how healthcare roles and impact can evolve.
